Condolence: I'm sure that we are a name that you would not recognize however, we lived at 31 Leonard Avenue from the fall of 1993 to the summer of 1995. We moved there ( next to Mary Boswell ) because my husband, Ned got an opportunity to work at a facility called the Wilderness Challenge in Schuyler Falls for the state( the program is no longer running )At the time our 3 girls were very young, ages 1,4 and 6. It was a very hard move as we were without any family or support in a strange town. We were very blessed to have your mom Evelyn as one of our neighbors. Shortly after we moved in, she came to our side door with a loaf of bread and she had her very little and cute grandson, ( who she was very proud of )Hayden with her.She was a regular visitor when we would be outside with the girls and was so friendly and kind to us.I wanted to tell you a few of the things I remember that your mom did for us..she gave me many recipes (that we still use today),she sewed one of my daughter's daisy uniforms and repaired one of my husband's good shirts,she gave us cuttings of her famous geraniums,she had us over for lunches and visits and once when we were selling our house and some unexpected viewers came by she let us come over (and even put my sick daughter on her couch )She cheered me up when I felt lonely and our girls loved her. When we had to move to Albany (my husband got transferred)she gave us several of her ceramic Santas that always remind us of her. We wrote each other on a fairly regular basis and then as your mom got older we just sent Christmas cards and then Mary told us she had to move out of her house and we never corresponded after that. Today I received in the mail your mom's beautiful obituary from Mary Boswell and I wanted to share all the kindnesses and the loving support that she gave a little family when they needed it. We too mourn the loss of your very special mom and we are sure that she is in heaven.Please accept our sympathy and prayers for the loss of your mom who truly touched our hearts.
