Mrs. Emma E. Plunkett, 96, of Johnson Avenue, Plattsburgh, passed away on Tuesday May 21, 2013 at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. She was born in Fayston, VT on December 1, 1916 the daughter of Ephram and Cecilia (Boyer) Bedard. Emma was a graduate of Our Lady of Victory Academy. She retired from Imperial Paper Mill in 1979, after 40 years of service. Emma was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Carlton Plunkett, a daughter Joan Duquette, her brothers Alec, Hector, Leo, Ephram, Simon, Louis and David Bedard, her sisters; Yvonne Desautels, Blanch Dugal, Marion Rabideau, Betty Fowler, Rena Gusberti, Rose Bedard and Catherine Cross.
She is survived by her sister, Cecil Ryan of Niagara Falls; two grandchildren; Debbie Parrott and her husband Cloyd of Plattsburgh and Kenneth Duquette and his wife Annette of West Palm Beach, Florida; three great grandchildren; Elizabeth Peterson, Abby and Samantha Duquette, several nieces and nephews also survive her.
At Emma’s request there will be no public calling hours. A funeral service will be held on Saturday May 25, 2013 at 1:00 at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh, entombment will be at Whispering Maples Memorial Gardens on the Tom Miller Road in Plattsburgh.
Friends wishing may make donations to the Fitzpatrick Cancer Center.

GODFREY, 72, of State Route 3 in Cadyville, died Monday, May 20, 2013, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh with family by his side. He was born in Colchester, VT, on Feb. 4, 1941, the son of the late Walter and Shirley (Ingalls) Godfrey.
At an early age, Walt joined Grand Union and worked his way up to management having held positions as District Manager and Store Manager throughout his career.  After his tenure of 47 years with the company, Walt retired to enjoy his hobbies and spend time with family and friends.
An avid Red Sox fan, Walt had a passion for music including writing songs, singing and playing guitar. He was especially proud of his vast record collection. He enjoyed playing cards and poker with his many friends as well as trips to Las Vegas, Atlantic City and Aruba. Over the years, Walt and his wife Sharon adopted many dogs and he was very attached to them and they brought him much happiness. Walt was very fond of his circle of family and friends and it is quite evident that he touched their lives as well.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years Sharon (Mace) Godfrey, daughter Naomi Godfrey of Derry, NH; son Wade Godfrey and his wife Tanya of Fairbanks, AK; sister Ann Stoll and her husband Bob of Rockwell, TX; sister Linda Garrapy and her husband Ron of Colchester, VT; and brother Larry Godfrey and his wife Peggy of Lakeland, FL and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brown Funeral Home, 3 Park Row, Cadyville, NY 12918 (518) 293-8574. In accordance with Walt's wishes, there will be no public calling hours or services. Donnell, Sr., 90, of Victoria House in Plattsburgh, passed away on Sunday May 19, 2013 at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on February 16, 1923 the son of Robert and Josephine (Skelly) Donnell.
Bill was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army Infantry, during World War II. Having received various medals, including the Bronze Star and Two Purple Hearts for action during combat. He married Elaine “Ferne” Freeman at St. Bernard’s Church in North Kingstown, R.I. in August of 1946, at which time he attended and graduated from Bryant College Providence, R.I. They moved to Plattsburgh in 1971, where he managed Kings Dept. Store in Skyway Plaza until 1983. During that time he was a board member of the Chamber of Commerce, Visitors and Convention Bureau, Downtown Association, Salvation Army and American Red Cross. In 1984 Bill was employed by the City of Plattsburgh at the Office of Emergency Preparedness until 1990. He operated his own small business consulting firm. He was also a board member of Clinton County Nursing Home, Plattsburgh Housing Authority, Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, Bishops Pro-life Committee, Knights of Columbus and Secular Franciscans. 
He was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Ferne Donnell, a son William Donnell, Jr., a son-in-law Joseph Miller, Sr., a grandson Mark Dragoon, two brothers; Bob and Jack Donnell and a sister, Dorothy Donovan.
Bill is survived by his wife Barbara Harrigan Donnell, his daughter Marie Miller of Plattsburgh, daughter-in-law Terrie Donnell of NH, six grandchildren; William Donnell III, Joseph (Bridget) Drake, Stefanie Donnell, Courtney Donnell, Kristi and Kimberly Brodeur, two great grandchildren; Sam and Abby, several nieces and nephews also survive him. 
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday May 22, 2013 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday May 23, 2013, at 1:00 p.m.  at St. John’s Church in Plattsburgh, burial will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Plattsburgh.
Donations in his memory may be made to Skilled Nursing at CVPH Medical Center.

Mr. John “Jack” N. Gibbs, 76, of Stafford Drive, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2013 at his home with family by his side and under the care of Hospice of the North Country.
He was born in Watertown, N.Y. on October 5, 1936, the son of the late Karl and Kathleen (Richards) Gibbs.
Jack served in the Army as a dental hygienist and worked in the family business of Karl Gibbs Funeral Home in Mexico, NY. Jack attended Syracuse University School of Business Administration and the Simmons School of Mortuary Science in Syracuse where he obtained his funeral directors license. He was employed as a district clerk of Mexico Academy until moving to the North Country in the early 70’s, where he was employed as Business Manager at Beekmantown Central School until retirement in 1997.
Jack enjoyed hunting, golfing, gambling and taking vacations. He loved to watch college sports, especially his favorite team, the Syracuse Orangemen. He also loved to watch NASCAR and his all- time favorite baseball team, the NY Yankees. He was a member of the Plattsburgh Elks Club, Beekmantown Lions Club and Masonic Lodge in Mexico, NY. 
He leaves behind his wife, Mary L. (Dubuque) Gibbs of Beekmantown, NY., daughter Kirstin Gibbs and husband Stephen Fedorchek and their children Sasha, Luke and Beatrice of Virginia, daughter Tracy and husband Mike Berry of Beekmantown, NY. and their children Cade and Chloe,  a daughter Janna Fountaine and husband Steve and their children Chalee, Sylvie, Marc and Nic of Virginia, brother George and wife Margaret of Baldwinsville, NY., mother and father in law; Kenneth and Anna Dubuque, Sr. of Beekmantown, NY., sister in law; Sue Carter and husband Tom of Beekmantown, NY., brother in law; Kenneth Dubuque, Jr. and wife Rosanne of Champlain, NY., brother in law David Dubuque and wife Huegette of Beekmantown, NY., and several, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is predeceased by his parents of Mexico, NY and Port Charlotte, FL., a sister; Cynthia Hunziker of Gaylord, MI., and an infant brother, Karl Gibbs, Jr.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2013 from 4:00 to 5:00pm at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St. in Plattsburgh. Funeral services will follow at 5:00 pm in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Felts Mills Cemetery in Watertown, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jack’s memory to the Alzheimers Association, 101 Broad St., Sibley Hall, Plattsburgh, NY.,12901 or Adirondack Humane Society, 134 Idaho Ave, Plattsburgh, NY., 12903 or any other charity of your choice.

			<title>Herbert Ryder</title>

Ryder, prominent local businessman and entrepreneur, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away on May 18, 2013 at CVPH medical center.  Herb was born in Syracuse, New York on July 20, 1940 to Herbert and Anna Louise (Klept) Ryder.  Herb spent most of his youth in Geneva, New York and graduated from Geneva High School in 1958.  Herb married his high school sweet-heart Carol Lynn Thomas and he attended Indiana University and Erie Technical College to become a licensed optician.  
	Herb and his family moved to Plattsburgh in 1965 where he opened his business, "The Spectacle Shoppe".  He later expanded and in 1987 opened a second store in Malone as well.  Two of his children, Thomas Ryder also an optician and Gretchen Ryder Spittler, an optometrist joined him in what truly became the family business.
	Always outgoing, happy and friendly, Herb was very active in the community.  Over the years, Herb coached little league, was active in the Plattsburgh City School District and was an Alderman for the City of Plattsburgh.  He served on the board and as an officer of the Vilas Home for over 20 years.  Herbert was a life time Elk and served as a director for BPOE 621.  Concerned with the local development and business environment for Plattsburgh, he developed the Margaret Street Mall and later served on the PARC board.  He was also on the board of Mater Dei College, and was instrumental in starting a program for training opticians there.  As a Chapter President and Director of the New York State Society of Opticians, Herb continued throughout his life to contribute to the professional standards, codes and examination criteria for his profession. He was appointed by former Governor Mario Cuomo to serve on the New York State Ed Department of Professional services for ten years.   Herb received the great honor of a "Life Time Achievement Award" from the State Society of Opticians for his many contributions.
	An avid bowler and fisherman, Herb loved his life on Lake Champlain and the Adirondacks.  He traveled all over the world, but liked nothing better than being home with family and friends.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
	Herbert was predeceased by his wife of 40 years, Carol Lynn (Thomas) Ryder, his parents and several siblings.  He is survived by his wife of ten years, MaryAnne Bukolt-Ryder; his son Thomas Ryder and his wife Denise (Calkins) Ryder of Plattsburgh; his daughter, Dr. Gretchen Ryder Spittler and her husband Thomas Spittler of Plattsburgh; his daughter Christine Ryder and her partner Robert Buran of Milton, Vermont; three grandchildren, Mitchell Ryder, Paige Spittler and Carolyn Spittler; and his step-children Angela Marshall and her husband Jean-Claude of Columbia, Maryland; Kristina Garenani and her fiancé David Breitkreutz of Elmira, New York, Kathleen Garenani and her fiancé Joshua Thayer of Alexandria Va. and "AJ" Arthur Ford of Plattsburgh, and a sister, Janice Kobusch of San Diego California.
	Calling hours will be held on Wednesday May 22, 2013 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh, immediately followed by a reception at the Emmaus Room.  A family burial service will be held later that day at St. Mary's of the Lake on Cumberland Head.
	  Donations in lieu of flowers may be sent in Herb's memory to the Third Age Adult Center, 417 Sibley Hall, 101 Broad Street, Plattsburgh, New York.

Mr. Theodore L. “Ted” Burritt, 71, of State Route 9 in Champlain, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at his home with family by his side and under the care of Hospice of the North Country. He was born in Hinesburg, Vermont on November 19, 1941 on the family farm, the son of the late Rollin and Cecilia (Driscoll) Burritt and the first of six sons and one daughter.
Ted is survived by his wife of 23 years, Patricia Burritt, his sons; Ronny & Lenny Burritt,  four brothers; Tom, Bob, Bill and John, a sister, Judith, many grandchildren and hisstep children Chad Cameron and Wendy Cameron.
He was predeceased by a daughter Sherry.
In life, Ted was a professional body and fender repair man most of his adult life restoring many antique cars and trucks. Ted was also a member of the V.A.E. Auto Club of Vermont. His business was known as Bay Auto Body.
The family wishes to thank all of Ted’s caregivers that helped Ted and a special thanks to his best friend Paul F. Parizo and the nurses.

Mrs. Rita H. Bouyea, 85, of Independence Drive, Plattsburgh, NY passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at the CVPH Medical Center with family by her side.  She was born in Plattsburgh, NY on October 18, 1927 the daughter of Manuel and Estelle (Leblanc) DeCelle.  Rita was a library assistant at Monty Street School.   She enjoyed playing Bridge and played several times a week.  Rita was member of St. Peter’s Church and the Rosary and Altar Society of St. Peter’s Church.  She enjoyed spending time with family especially her grandchildren which she dearly loved.  Rita was predeceased by her parents, a sister Marion DeCelle, her brothers; Gerard and Francis DeCelle, her sister-in-law JoAnn Carroll and her husband Robert and a brother-in-law Robert Egan.
She is survived by her husband of sixty four years William “Bill” Bouyea, Sr. of Plattsburgh, two sons; William Bouyea, Jr. of Plattsburgh, Brian Bouyea and his wife Deborah of Austin, Texas, two daughters; Bonnie Barrett  of Virginia and Rebecca Ketcham and her significant other Dean Miller of Plattsburgh, a sister Pauline Egan of Plattsburgh, a sister-in-law Mildred DeCelle of Morrisonville, a former son-in-law Michael Barrett of Virginia,  seven grandchildren; Laurie Dumont, Bethany Barrett, Elizabeth Bouyea, Kristie Barrett, Katie Ketcham, Peter Barrett and Jonathan Ketcham, three great grandchildren; Sophia and Gracie Dumont and Lily Barrett, several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Friday, May 17, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, New York 12901.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 12:00 noon at St. Peter’s Church.
Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

Mr. Robert A. Mills Sr., 81, of Military Turnpike in Plattsburgh, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh with family by his side.
He was born in Graettinger, Iowa on February 16, 1932, the son of the late Arlie and Frances (Carson) Mills.
Robert served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and later served in the U.S. Air Force until he retired in 1973. 
He is survived by his children and their spouses; Larry and Cheryl Proper, Irene and Steve Heinzman, Robert Jr. and Jane Mills, William Mills, three sisters; Betty, Eva and Shirley, his grandchildren; Dustin Heinzman, Robert Proper, Philip Heinzman, Eric Mills, Christina (Mills) Charland and several great grandchildren; Austin, Alex and Abbey Proper, Threnody and Emmitt Mills, Connor and Colton Heinzman.
He was predeceased by his wife Barbara Y. Mills, his brothers; John, Earl, Alvin, Don and Dale Mills and a sister Alice.
In accordance with his wishes, there will be no calling hours or services. Burial will be in the Treadwells Mills Cemetery.

			<description><![CDATA[<p><img src='http://www.brownfuneralhomeinc.com/include/storage/thumb.php?edgeFade=4&amp;imgName=14168/DeathRecordStub/1584537/Everhart%2C_Beverly_pressweb.jpg&amp;imgWidth=72&amp;imgWidth=120' align='left' hspace='8'>Mrs. Beverly Gail Everhart, 72, of Military Turnpike, in Plattsburgh passed away Monday May 13, 2013 at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake with her “entire family” at her side. She was born in Plattsburgh, September 10, 1940, the daughter of Robert and Wilma (Desso) Barber. 
After Graduating from Beekmantown High School Beverly worked as a Medical Office Assistant for Dr. Nello Delbell working as part of a team that brought many local babies into the world. Later in life she worked as a Nurse’s Aide and a Home Health Aid helping the elderly in their homes. 
Beverly lived a life full of helping others from her employment right straight through to her love of making crafts for all the people that mattered in her life. She brought many joyful years to those she encountered including family and friends. We will all miss her tremendously! 
She is predeceased by her husband George J. Everhart who passed in 2005. She is survived by her son Christopher, and brothers Roland and Robert Barber. 
Upon cremation provided by Brown Funeral Home in partnership with Whispering Maples Crematory there will be a private graveside memorial service Friday, May 17th @ 11:00am open to all that knew and cared about her at Riverside Cemetery in Plattsburgh. There she will be laid to rest alongside her Husband George. This short service will be followed by a private food festival meant for consoling all family with ‘High Calorie Homemade Goodness“, just as Beverly would have wanted. 
Any donations in her memory can be made to Hassett Adult Day Care services at Evergreen Valley Nursing Home located in Plattsburgh 
Finally a special thanks is offered to all the family and friends that did all they could to comfort and inspire during such a difficult final transition. Know that you were all loved and cherished each in unique ways for all experiences that were shared throughout life and even in death.
