Anna “Mary” Lee Allen passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2020 at home while embraced by great love from her family. Mary endured a long battle with Multiple Myeloma and bravely faced her illness each day for the past 12 years. Mary was born on December 1, 1947 to William and Geneva Peryea.
Mary worked for over 30 years at A. Schonbeck and Co. She enjoyed that time in her life
and was very proud of the work she did there.
Mary loved to travel and when she could no longer travel she loved to hear about the adventures of others. She also loved her pets, plants and flowers and all things collectible. Mary lived for her family. Her greatest treasure in life was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved them dearly and any time she had with them always lifted her spirits.
Mary is survived by her children; Lisa (Plattsburgh), Vicky (Mike) Martin (Champlain), Tammy (Mark) McCadam (Plattsburgh) and John (Carrie) Robare (Altona). She is also survived by her grandchildren; Camry (Joe), Kaden, Cailene, Kelly (Tennessee), Dustin, Nicholas, Madison, Quinn and Jake (Jaevanna). In addition, she was blessed with seven great- grandchildren; Oliver, Peter, Henry, Truman, and Caroline (Plattsburgh), Gianna and David (Tennessee). Mary also leaves behind a large extended family including several siblings and many nieces and nephews.
Mary was predeceased by her parents, partner, Paul Robare and son, Donald Allen, Jr.
Mary’s family would like to thank Hospice of the North Country for their assistance during the last few weeks of her life. They also have great gratitude for the staff at the Fitzpatrick Cancer Center for the care they provided to Mary over the years. Mary especially appreciated the kindness, compassion and care she received from Dr. Jan Duus as she managed the progression of her illness.
Donations in Mary’s honor may be made to the Fitzpatrick cancer Center or Hospice of the North Country.
Arrangements are entrusted to Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh and will be private as the family is honoring Mary’s wishes.
