Obituary

MARIE E. BUTCHINO, 76, of Plattsburgh, NY gained her Angel wings on June 4th, 2020 at CVPH Medical Center after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born November 3, 1943 in Plattsburgh, New York to the late Marjorie (King) and Augustine Fabrizio.
Marie married Royce Butchino on November 4, 1961. They were married for nearly 60 years. Marie had been employed at various jobs throughout her life. However, the one job she worked the hardest at was raising her three children and taking care of her home. She loved watching cooking shows with her beloved dog Casper who was always on her lap. She loved talking and joking around the kitchen table. She enjoyed cooking and baking for the holidays and spending time with her family. She spent many hours crocheting and knitting beautiful afghans for her children and grandchildren.
Marie is survived by her husband Royce Butchino of Plattsburgh, NY; son Darren and wife Shari Butchino of Dannemora; daughter Corinne and husband Micheal Giambruno of Dannemora; son Dwayne and wife Charity Butchino of Plattsburgh; one sister Susan and husband Larry Moore of Plattsburgh; One half-brother David Besaw of Kentucky; one brother-in-law Wendell Rock of Plattsburgh; one step-sister Nancy Baker of Rouses Point; AND her grandchildren Nicole and Ian Curtis of Peru; Dominica Butchino of Liverpool, N.Y.; Anita and James Looby of Port Kent, N.Y.; Marci Giambruno of Port Kent; Anthony Giambruno of Dannemora; Ana Butchino of Plattsburgh; Talya Butchino of Plattsburgh; AND four great grandchildren Damian, Mercedes and Makenzie Curtis, and Brantley Giambruno. Two nieces Lisa Cassevah and daughters Taylor and Kristin of Peru; and Lori Agnew and sons Joshua and Nathan of Peru; One nephew Larry Moore II and his wife Renee and their daughters Natalie and Gianna of Ballston Spa, N.Y..
She is predeceased by her grandparents Walter and Mary King; Aunt Colleen King; mother Marjorie Boyea, stepfather Kenneth Boyea, and father Augustine Fabrizio and her cherished sister Renee Rock.
Marie’s family would like to extend their appreciation of care and professionalism given by Dr. Duus and the staff at the Fitzpatrick Cancer Center and the fifth floor staff at CVPH. There will be no calling hours per her request. The funeral service will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Fitzpatrick Cancer Center. A message from the grandchildren:
A grandmother is a very special woman indeed. The woman who makes sure you're fed when you come to visit is the same woman who makes sure you have a darn good laugh before you leave. Is our grandmother any different than anyone else’s? We certainly hope not! All we know as grandchildren is the warmth and the smile that was our grandmother. Nina as she was called by some and Nana as she was called by others was the most amazing and electrifying woman to ever grace our presence. Nina/Nana there will always be a special place for you in our hearts. We will forever think of you when we see a poppy bloom. We love you!
