Obituary

Marilyn Newman Bosworth, 92 of Plattsburgh, passed away peacefully February 15, 2020 at Meadowbrook Healthcare. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on August 24, 1927, the daughter of Myer and Bertha (Ells) Newman.
Marilyn graduated from North Creek High School in 1944 and the Paine Hall School in New York City where she earned a medical assistant certificate. She worked as a medical secretary in Manhattan during the post war years. During that time she met Chester Bosworth and they married in New York in 1948. They eventually moved to Plattsburgh where Chet began a career in radio and TV. Marilyn worked as a medical secretary for Doctors Ladue and Webster and later as a school health aide for the Plattsburgh City School District.
She developed a passion for auctions and garage sales and became quite knowledgeable about Depression glass, flow blue plates, and loved the hours she and Chet spent in the antique business. Marilyn enjoyed hiking and skiing in the Adirondacks and loved working in her back yard flower garden. She volunteered at the Interfaith food shelf and was a member of the Methodist Church. She was a skilled bridge player and always looked forward to the Monday and Wednesday bridge groups.
Survivors include three sons, Nelson (Elizabeth) Bosworth , Spencer Bosworth, and Michael Bosworth; one daughter, Kate Annichiarico; a sister-in-law, Sylvia Newman and a niece, Lani (Patrick) Morrissey; six grandchildren, Sara Bosworth and her husband Tobias Fizzell, Geoff Bosworth, Erin (Stan) Lipka, Tony Annichiarico, Peter (Tammy) Annichiarico, and Tyler Annichiarico and his wife Veronica Bosley; three great-grandchildren, Luci Lipka, and Juliauna and Angelina Sampson.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Chet Bosworth, her brother, Warren Newman; a son-in-law, James Annichiarico and a daughter-in-law, Carol Bosworth.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Brown Funeral Home 29 Broad St. in Plattsburgh. A celebration of her life will be held on February 26 at the Methodist Church, Beekman St. in Plattsburgh at 11:00 am.
